In Hyderabad, a complaint has been lodged regarding an alleged encroachment on the land surrounding Qutub Shahi Masjid in Neknampur, Gandipet, located on the outskirts of the city.
As per the complaint filed by Heritage Watch, certain individuals are making efforts to encroach upon the Mosque and Tomb land, employing heavy machinery like Hitachi & JCB for excavation.
The complaint has been forwarded to the Municipal Commissioner of Manikonda Municipality, urging a visit to the site and necessary measures to safeguard the Qutub Shahi Masjid’s land in Gandipet.
Additionally, copies of the complaint, addressed to the Municipal Commissioner, have been sent to various authorities including the Telangana State Wakf Board, District Collector of Rangareddy, Commissioner of Police in Cyberabad, and the Tahsildar and Station House Officer of Narsingi Police Station.

This incident is not the first attempt at encroachment, as mentioned in the complaint. A prior encroachment effort was thwarted when officials from the Wakf Board took action against the individuals responsible.
It’s noteworthy that the Qutub Shahi Masjid in Gandipet, Hyderabad, holds historical significance, being a 400-year-old mosque.
