President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won the re-election. With approximately 97 percent of ballot boxes opened in the run-off, Erdogan has received 52.1 percent of the vote, while his challenger Kemal Kilicdaroglu has garnered 47.9 percent, according to Anadolu Agency.
The official Supreme Election Council has yet to confirm the results.
Meanwhile, the Qatari Emir congratulated Erdogan for the election victory: “My dear brother, congratulations on your victory, and I wish you success in your new term, and that you achieve in it what the brotherly Turkish people aspire to in terms of progress and prosperity”
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban also congratulated Erdogan on his ‘unquestionable election victory’
